Top Five Labor Day Weekend Destinations

Labor Day is the unofficial “last day of summer” so many of us anticipate this weekend. Most people take advantage of this three day weekend and make the most of it by planning a kind of “mini vacation” where we can escape and enjoy the last days of summer. But where does everyone usually go?

According to Patrick Clarke of travelpulse.com, Expedia revealed 2014’s top Labor Day destinations in North America based on their flight booking for last year.

Here are the Top Five:

5. Chicago! Chicago is on its 37th year of holding the Chicago Jazz Festival. It is a three day free event that both locals and people from out of town can enjoy on Labor Day Weekend. Another reason to visit Chicago for Labor Day Weekend is the North Coast Music Festival. It is a 3 day event that will be featuring musical acts including Steve Aoki, The Roots, Atmosphere, and many more.

Las Vegas is essentially a playground for adults, with its unlimited supply of pool parties, casinos, and clubs with big name DJs, so it makes sense its the most popular way to say goodbye to the summer season. This year, Till Dawn Group has got you hooked up if you are going to Vegas for Labor Day Weekend. Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas is Coming!

With all the Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas postings and announcements, the excitement is growing for every attendee! Within the past few days alone the documentary/after-movie trailer has been released, the lineup announcement date has been set, and Pasquale Rotella has given a statement in response to the increased impatience of ticket-holders who want to know who will be performing. May 27th will kick off this years’ pre-EDC hype with the official line-up announcement, and only two days after that on the 29th, the after-movie “Under the Electric Sky” will be in theaters! If this isn’t enough excitement for you all, EDC LV is only 43 days away! While you wait for the lineup, Rotella writes in his letter to fans that he feels the lineup should not matter as much as the experience of EDC itself and he is right! The emotion involved in being under the electric sky is so sensational and impressive that the DJs’ in attendance are simply a bonus for the 3 days of peace, love, unity, and respect. So be patient and focus on the excellent times that you are about to have. For you fitness junkies its go-time at the gym, and for those of you with the artistic and designer touch, get those outfits ready because those 43 days will fly by. School sessions are wrapping up, people are graduating, and summer is upon us. It’s time to get your tickets if you haven’t already, and if you want a shuttle pass with no lines, use Till Dawn Groups EDC Shuttle passes! Insomniac Can’t Catch a Break

As one of the most well known music event production companies in the world, Insomniac is inevitably going to have some haters. Despite the hundreds of thousands of people that love the events produced by the partnered companies Insomniac and Live Nation, there are still people that are going to have negative views of the events for some reason or other. Unfortunately someone has taken it past simple complaints and filed a lawsuit. They are suing because they feel that as a volunteer they should be getting paid for their work at music festivals due to the long shifts. The lawyers are arguing that the volunteers are promised things such as lunch breaks, free food, and free water, but do not actually receive those things when the events take place so they want payment. Volunteers are promised free entry to the events and for a festival like Electric Daisy Carnival, free entrance is much more valuable than getting paid minimum wage for a few hours of work. With federal minimum wage at $7.25, working for one night of the event wouldn’t even begin to cover the cost of the three day ticket, especially after taxes! As someone who has signed up to volunteer for Insomniac in the past, the Night Owls are pretty clear about calling it VOLUNTEERING. While the lawyers say the title doesn’t matter if the labor laws are bent or broken, I wouldn’t complain too much considering the free entrance to the event would be worth more. Sounds to me like the plaintiff just wants to attack a company with lots of money and gain personally without thinking of how this will affect the thousands of people purchasing tickets to these events in future. All it takes is one complaint though, so hopefully this lawsuit falls through as expected and Insomniac and Live Nation can continue festival plans without a hitch.

The Remembrance Festival: In Honor of Bingo Players’ Paul Baumer

Today a new song by Bingo Players has been released, titled “Knock You Out”. Bingo Players debuted the song at The Remembrance Festival, a music festival in March in honor of Bingo Players very own Paul Baumer. Baumer lost his battle to Cancer late in 2013, and for those who attended Skills Events’ Pop NYE this past year, the news that Bingo Players would not be filling their set time due to the loss was hard to hear. Bingo Players’ Maarten Hoogstraten announced that despite Baumer’s passing on Bingo Players would always be plural, and The Remembrance Festival was created. Part of the festivals proceeds are donated to two cancer research centers and the excellent line-up drew in a great crowd. Bingo Players, Dada Life, Bassjackers, Carl Tricks, Chuckie, David Tort, Henry Fong, Makj, and Tommy Trash performed at the festival, with the crowd dancing along for a good cause. Bingo Players may have lost a half, but Maarten is making sure the two-man group never dies. There are many upcoming shows, with two in Las Vegas in the coming months. On April 24, 2014 and June 14, 2014, Bingo Players will be performing in Vegas and YOU need a way to get there! Till Dawn Group can take care of your travel needs with party busses, limos, and hotels so that you have nothing to worry about except dancing the night away to “Knock You Out”.

Marquee Dome, Winter Pool Party

Last Sunday, February 16th, Marquee Dayclub made history by doing the first ever Pool Party during the Winter (at least one that wasn’t freezing!) Marquee was able to pull this off by building a mega structure/dome covering the entire pool area and having it temperature controlled. The event was a huge success, which would lead to believe this will not be the last time we see these types of events during the Winter months.

The party was done in conjunction with Insomniac, and was branded as the “Halfway to EDC” Party. DJs included Dash Berlin, Candyland, Firebeatz, Lema, Kennedy Jones, and Paris Blohm. The event was said to have over 5,000 attendees, and the vibe and energy were unreal. This had to have been one of the busiest days Marquee Dayclub had ever seen, with the Nightclub area being opened as well for guests!

Till Dawn Group was one of the many hosts on the day, and our group of over 100 enjoyed themselves beyond believe! Those who came with our company were given FREE entry on our Guest List, plus we had a VIP table area to host our guests. The event was an indoor/outdoor experience like no other.

With Vegas being the competitive, one-up style market that it is, it’s only a matter of time before someone copies Marquee’s amazing idea. But no matter what, they will never be able to say they were the “first”.

Till Dawn Group works closely with Tao Group and Marquee, so we will keep you informed about the next event of this type, so stay tuned!

Vegas…. America’s Ibiza

Over the past 5 years, the Electronic music scene has exploded in the desert, and has made Vegas a destination to see some of the world’s top DJs.  A few years back, it was Celebrity Hosts, and Hip Hop Performers that were bringing in the crowds to Vegas’ top Venues. Now, its EDM artists that are playing each and every weekend, and packing the dance floor.

Nightclub’s like Marquee, XS, Surrender, Tryst, Haze, and now Hakkasan are paying top dollar to bring in what everyone is asking for, the world’s top EDM DJs. Rumors have it that these DJs make $50,000-$500,000 for one event, but when venue’s are selling out, and ticket prices are high, there is no stopping these venues from spending this type of money. On top of that, bar sales, table service and bottle sales are bringing in so much revenue, that booking these DJs is a no brainer.

With new nightclubs opening, and pool parties being just as big and important as the night events, there is really no end in sight to this madness.  As long as there is a line of people willing to pay the cover, and a demand to stay competitive in a cutthroat market, these venues will continue to spend the money to get the results.

With EDC, Electronic Daisy Carnival, moving its home from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, it has helped solidify Vegas’ hold as the premier destination to see your favorite dance DJ. According to the Las Vegas Sun, nearly $207 Million was brought to Clark County during EDC, which shows the incredible financial impact these types of music festivals have on their given community. It is estimated that over 300,000 partygoers took part in festivities, and that number should grow this coming year.

So as most of the United States is hurting for jobs, and income, in a small strip of the desert, there is money being spent, and money being made at an alarming rate, every single day. And with the popularity of EDM only getting bigger, this trend in commerce should only continue for years to come.
